Terms of Use
Last updated: October 1, 2026
1. Agreement
These terms apply to your use of Plain Barcode (plainbarcode.com), operated by Toma Tomov, an individual in the State of Georgia, United States. By using the site you accept them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
2. Information, not professional advice
The site is informational. The guides explain barcode standards and practices in general terms and are not legal, financial, regulatory or other professional advice. Requirements of GS1, retailers, marketplaces, carriers and regulators change and vary. Confirm anything important with them before you act. You are responsible for decisions you make, and we are not liable for decisions based only on the site's content. See the Disclaimer.
3. Using the tools
- The tools are free and run in your browser. We may change or remove them at any time.
- You are responsible for the data you encode and for having the right to use it. In particular, a barcode generator cannot license a GTIN. Numbers used on products sold at retail must be assigned under your own GS1 license.
- Don't use the tools to mislabel products, imitate another company's identifiers, or create fraudulent labels, tickets or documents.
- We claim no ownership of the barcode images you create. You may use them for any lawful purpose, including commercial products and labels, without attribution. Check every output before printing in quantity, and test it with the scanners that will read it.
4. Our content
The text, design and code of this site belong to the operator, except for material credited to others and the trademarks of their owners. You may link to any page and quote short excerpts with a link back. Don't copy whole guides, republish the site's content, or scrape it in bulk without written permission.
5. Acceptable use
Don't interfere with the site or its security, overload it with automated requests, or try to access anything that is not publicly offered.
6. Links and advertising
The site links to other websites and shows ads served by Google. We don't control those sites or ads and aren't responsible for their content, products or practices. An ad on this site is not an endorsement.
7. No warranty
The site and tools are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise that a barcode made here will scan in every situation or be accepted by any retailer, marketplace or trading partner.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, the operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or reprinting costs, arising from your use of the site or tools. Where liability can't be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us to use the site (which is nothing) or US $50.
9. Copyright complaints (DMCA)
If you believe material on this site infringes your copyright, email [email protected] with the subject “DMCA notice” and include:
- your physical or electronic signature;
- a description of the copyrighted work you believe is infringed;
- the address (URL) of the material on this site;
- your name, mailing address, phone number and email address;
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law; and
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act for the owner.
We will review valid notices promptly and remove or disable infringing material. If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake, you may send a counter-notice to the same address with the information required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(g).
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia and applicable US federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Georgia, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it elsewhere.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
