Free barcode tools
Every tool here is free to use, for personal and commercial work. They run in your browser: what you type is not uploaded or stored, none of them needs an account, and nothing you download carries a watermark. They draw and check barcodes; they do not issue or license numbers.

Barcode generator
UPC-A, EAN-13, UPC-E, EAN-8, ITF-14, GS1-128, Code 128, Code 39, Codabar and QR. Calculates missing GS1 check digits, warns about short quiet zones, and exports SVG or PNG.
Use it when: You need one barcode image for packaging artwork, a document or a label template.
QR code generator
Static QR codes for links, Wi-Fi networks, email, phone calls, text messages and plain text, with a choice of error correction level.
Use it when: You want people to open a page, join Wi-Fi or contact you from a printed sign or package.
Barcode label sheet generator
Prints a numbered sequence or your own list as Code 128, Code 39 or QR labels on 30-up US Letter sheets or one label per page for a label printer.
Use it when: You are labeling bins, shelves, stock or equipment and need dozens of different codes at once.
SKU generator
Combines product, color, size or other attribute codes into consistent SKUs, flags confusing characters and duplicates, and exports CSV.
Use it when: You are setting up inventory or a store catalog and want SKUs that follow one rule.
Check digit calculator and GTIN converter
Calculates or verifies the GS1 check digit for GTIN-8, GTIN-12, GTIN-13, GTIN-14, GSIN and SSCC, shows the math, and converts UPC-E, UPC-A, EAN-13 and GTIN-14.
Use it when: You want to catch a typo before printing, or a system asks for the number in a different length.
Before you print
A tool can only draw what you give it. For retail products, the number has to be licensed through GS1; see how to get UPC barcodes. For anything you print, check the size, quiet zone and contrast in how to print barcodes that scan, and test a sample with the scanner that will read it.
